The Blayney Show will return on Saturday 7 March, running from 8am to 5pm at the Blayney Showground, with a full program of competition, livestock judging and family entertainment.
A highlight on the local calendar, the Show continues to showcase the strength of agriculture and community talent across the region.
Inside the pavilion, entries will be on display across a wide range of sections including Arts & Craft, Photography, Needlework, Colouring Competitions, homemade products, flowers, vegetables and farm produce. The Home Brew competition is again expected to draw strong interest, while the Kids Corner provides younger entrants with the opportunity to get involved.
Livestock remains central to the day, with judging scheduled for dairy goats, prime lambs, stud sheep, cattle, poultry and wool. These sections reflect the depth of agricultural knowledge and breeding standards within the district.
In the main arena, visitors can enjoy a full schedule of events including Equine Ring competitions, the Woodchop, Yard Dog Trials, and the popular Wet Nose Tail Wagging Pet Dog Show, which will be followed by the crowd-favourite Dog High Jump competition.
The official opening will take place at 11:30am, including the announcement of the Blayney Young Woman for the Year, followed by the traditional Grand Parade, bringing together competitors and exhibitors from across the grounds.
Beyond the competition rings, there will be plenty to see and do. The Heritage Tractors, Trucks & Machinery display, Ute Show and Classic Car display will feature throughout the day, alongside a variety of market stalls offering local goods and products. Food vendors will operate across the grounds, including the well-supported Blayney Can Assist Fundraiser BBQ in the stable area.
Family entertainment will include a Mechanical Bull ride, Rock Climbing Wall, Troppo Magic Show and Live Reptile Display, with performances from local dance studios and music by the Blayney High School Band adding to the program.
Country shows do not happen without significant planning and volunteer support. The Blayney Show Committee and its volunteers contribute many hours behind the scenes to ensure the day runs smoothly.
The Blayney Show remains an important opportunity to support local exhibitors, community groups and agricultural producers — and to spend the day connecting with the broader region.
