Newmont Cadia has released its 2025 Community Investment Report, highlighting more
than $5.04 million invested into programs, partnerships and infrastructure benefiting
communities across the Blayney, Cabonne and Orange Local Government Areas.
In addition to the direct community investment, Newmont Cadia contributed $1.2 billion in total gross value to the Central West economy throughout 2025, including $362 million spent with 308 local businesses.
The Report showcases a wide range of initiatives supported during the year, including major funding for local councils, health programs, regional tourism, emergency services, agricultural sustainability, Indigenous pathways, and community organisations.
Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA) Orange received funding through the Cadia Legacy Fund to support critical infrastructure upgrades at its facility. With one in 700 babies born in Australia with Cerebral Palsy and the Orange Centre seeing a growth of 48% in therapy hours delivered by the team since 2020, CPA Relationship Manager Linda Koops said the upgrades will ensure CPA Orange is sustainable, viable and well-positioned to continue to support people with disability into the future.
“The upgrades to CPA Orange support our purpose of providing specialised therapy that is essential to people with complex disability, and their families, to lead the most inclusive lives possible, and participate and thrive in the life of the Orange community throughout their entire lives.”
“Since completion of the works, feedback from staff and clients has been very positive, particularly in relation to the upgraded centre and gym space. The addition of the ceiling hoist, made possible by strengthening the ceiling, has enhanced safe, supported participation in mobility training. It has also expanded our service delivery, enabling the introduction of Body Weight Supported Treadmill Training—an exciting addition that our therapists are very enthusiastic about—further improving the therapy experience for both client and therapists.”
Highlights of the Report include:
- More than 7,900 volunteer hours donated by Newmont Cadia employees.
- Delivery of 36 refurbished laptops and 10 tablets to local schools and organisations.
- Ongoing investment in the Sticky Nightshade Program supporting 31 landholders.
- Over $4.2 million supporting Cadia District programs, technology grants,
sustainability initiatives and community infrastructure. - Expanded partnerships with Indigenous organisations, including the Clontarf Foundation
and the Ganhambarra program.
