Step Into the Future of Business in Lithgow

Future Ready Regional Roadshow: Virtual Reality for Business

Tuesday 27 October 2026, 6.00pm–8.00pm

Club Lithgow

Hosted by nbn and the Lithgow District Chamber of Commerce, the evening event will give local business owners the chance to try VR technology and see practical training applications for industries including hospitality, retail, health, aged care, disability services and physical professions. Demonstrations will include managing difficult customers, duty of care and dignity of risk, and manual handling.

The broader story is about what reliable, high-capacity connectivity can enable for regional communities. Across the Lithgow local government area, more than 5,000 premises served by Fibre to the Node and Fibre to the Curb can now upgrade to full fibre, helping local businesses adopt technologies such as cloud-based tools, automation, AI and immersive training.

Matt Armstrong will be available as an nbn spokesperson to discuss:

  • how VR can make workforce training more immersive and accessible for regional businesses;
  • how students can use VR and augmented reality to explore STEM learning and future careers;
  • the practical opportunities enabled by improved connectivity and full fibre across the Lithgow region; and
  • why nbn is taking the Future Ready Regional Roadshow directly to regional communities.

The business event flyer is attached. Registrations are essential and places are limited. Tickets are $20 through Humanitix: Register for the Lithgow Future Ready Regional Roadshow
