Hartley Valley Gardens Open Their Gates This Spring

Spring is looking spectacular in Little Hartley, with the Hartley Valley Garden Festival and Plant Fair returning on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October, offering visitors a wonderful opportunity to explore four magnificent private country gardens.

Running from 10am to 4pm each day, the festival celebrates the beauty of the Hartley Valley, showcasing the creativity, passion and dedication of local garden owners who generously open their gates to share their stunning properties with visitors.

Visitors can wander through Highfields, featuring more than 800 varieties of roses, rare plants and sweeping valley views; Hartvale Gardens, bursting with colourful perennial borders, charming garden spaces and a delightful kitchen garden; Gory’u Japanese Gardens, a peaceful five-acre retreat featuring traditional Japanese landscaping, ornamental bridges and tranquil waterways; and Wild Meadows Garden, where sweeping perennial plantings and ornamental grasses create a spectacular natural setting.

There’s plenty more to enjoy throughout the weekend, with specialty plant stalls, fresh flowers, garden sculptures, handmade crafts and delicious refreshments available across the properties. Visitors can enjoy a sausage sizzle, morning or afternoon tea, or make a day of it by stopping at one of Hartley’s wonderful local cafes.

The festival is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors while supporting local growers, artisans and small businesses.

Admission is $15 per person, per garden, with children under 16 free. No bookings are required, with payment at each gate. Free parking is available and picnics are welcome.
