Millthorpe was glowing on Friday night as locals and visitors turned out in force for the Millthorpe Fire Fair, once again bringing warmth, colour and plenty of atmosphere to the village.
Held on Friday, August 7, the popular event officially launched the Orange Region Fire Festival, with the streets of Millthorpe transformed by fire pits, festoon lights, live music and a bustling market atmosphere.
Visitors enjoyed an impressive selection of local food, wine, craft beer and spirits, alongside market stalls, artisan products and the village’s boutique shops, while entertainment and activities ensured there was plenty for younger festival-goers to enjoy as well.
Adding to the occasion was the special Lachlan Valley Railway Fire Festival Train, bringing visitors from Orange directly into Millthorpe’s historic railway station and adding another memorable element to the evening. The Fire Train was a sold-out success!
But behind the lights, music and festivities was an enormous community effort. The Millthorpe Village Association has extended a heartfelt thank you to the many volunteers who gave their time before, during and after the event, helping ensure another successful Fire Fair for the village.
Thanks also go to the market stallholders, food and beverage vendors, musicians, entertainers, local businesses and everyone who participated in bringing the event to life.
Most importantly, organisers thanked the amazing swell of visitors and locals who rugged up, headed out and embraced everything the village had to offer.
Events like the Fire Fair don’t happen without a huge collective effort, and once again Millthorpe showed exactly what can be achieved when a community comes together.
