A significant milestone in local community service will be celebrated this month when the Rotary Club of Blayney hosts its 70th Changeover Dinner.
The special evening will be held at Blayney Golf Club on Wednesday, 17 June, bringing together Rotarians, past members, supporters, and community representatives to celebrate seven decades of service and look ahead to the future.
The annual Changeover Dinner is one of the most important events on the Rotary calendar, marking the official handover of leadership within the club and providing an opportunity to reflect on the past 12 months’ achievements.
Outgoing President Rohan Hoadley will conclude his term after leading the club through another year of community projects, fundraising initiatives and support for local organisations. The evening will also see the induction of incoming President Heather Ferguson Hoadley, who will lead the club through the 2026-27 Rotary year.
The changeover coincides with a remarkable milestone for the organisation, with the Rotary Club of Blayney celebrating 70 years of service to the local community.
Since its formation, the club has played an important role in supporting a wide range of community projects, charities, youth programs and local events. Through fundraising activities, volunteer efforts, and partnerships with other community groups, Rotary members have contributed countless hours to initiatives aimed at improving the lives of others.
Rotary clubs are well known for their commitment to service above self, with members working together to address community needs both locally and internationally. In Blayney, that commitment has helped support generations of residents through practical projects, sponsorship opportunities and community-driven initiatives.
As Rotary International begins a new year under the theme “Creating Lasting Impact,” the club looks forward to building on the work of those who have come before while continuing to identify new opportunities to support the community.
The dinner will provide an opportunity to celebrate not only the achievements of the past year, but also the dedication of members past and present who have helped shape the club over the last seven decades.
The event will commence at 6 pm at Blayney Golf Club on the Mid Western Highway, Blayney. Tickets are $50 per person, and guests are asked to dress in smart casual attire.
Anyone wishing to attend is encouraged to RSVP by 10 June via email at rcblayney@gmail.com.
As the Rotary Club of Blayney enters its eighth decade, the organisation remains focused on its core mission of service, fellowship and making a positive difference in the community it proudly serves.
