Bushman’s Gains National Recognition as Lithgow Dining Scene Continues to Rise

A standout moment for Lithgow’s evolving food scene has been confirmed, with Bushman’s Restaurant officially recognised as a Recommended dining destination in the Australian Good Food Guide for 2026.

While the team first received word of the inclusion late last year, the announcement now marks a significant milestone in a steady, considered approach to regional fine dining. The recognition reflects a clear vision, one that centres on thoughtful, produce-driven menus and a strong connection to place.

Over the past 12 months, the behind-the-scenes focus has been on building a cohesive and passionate team. That work remains ongoing, making the national acknowledgement all the more meaningful for those involved. From the kitchen through to front-of-house and the many hands working quietly in the background, the achievement is being shared across the entire operation.

Importantly, the team has also acknowledged the role of its diners in reaching this point. From travellers stopping in briefly to locals returning time and again, that continued support has helped shape the experience and reputation now being recognised on a national stage.

With momentum building, Bushman’s has also recently launched a new menu, continuing its commitment to seasonal produce and refined presentation.

Looking ahead, the restaurant is preparing to open its doors for a rare Sunday service, hosting a special Mother’s Day lunch on May 10. The one-off event will offer guests the opportunity to enjoy the venue’s signature dining experience in an intimate setting, something not typically available on weekends.

Following a fully booked Valentine’s Day event earlier this year, demand is expected to be strong. Bookings are essential; the first sitting is at 11.30 am. Guests are encouraged to secure their place early by calling 6352 1655.

As Lithgow’s dining landscape continues to evolve, this latest recognition signals not just a milestone, but a promising direction for what comes next.
