Preparations are well underway for the Newbridge Winter Solstice Festival, set to transform the village on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 June 2026 into a vibrant hub of colour, creativity and community celebration.
Now in full planning mode, organisers have confirmed an exciting entertainment program, with both returning favourites and new performers locked in and ready to go. With just weeks to count down, anticipation is already building for what promises to be another standout event on the region’s winter calendar.
A highlight of the festival will once again be the Medieval Banquet on Friday evening, offering an intimate and immersive experience for 50 guests. Featuring lively entertainment, music, dance and a rich medieval feast, the banquet has quickly become a crowd favourite, with early interest already strong ahead of ticket release on 30 April.
Across the weekend, the Newbridge Showground will host a fully mapped Viking Village, alongside more than 60 market and medieval-themed stalls preparing unique wares for festival-goers. The streets will come alive with music, roaming performers and interactive experiences designed to engage visitors of all ages.
Entertainment highlights include the playful antics of Octave and Knott, drumming workshops with Welsh’s Drumming for Fun, and the ever-popular combat arena featuring jousting knights and battling Vikings. Young visitors can also step into the action at Knight School, while the Grand Costume Parade returns with an expanded prize pool supported by local businesses.
The festival will culminate on Saturday evening with fire twirling, drumming and the lighting of the iconic Wickerman bonfire at 5.15 pm, a spectacular finale to a day centred on participation, creativity and community spirit.
