Countdown On for Lithgow’s First Volunteer Expo

The countdown is officially on for Lithgow’s first Volunteer Expo – Meet & Greet, set to bring the community together in a celebration of connection, contribution and local spirit.

Taking place on Saturday, 28 March, from 10 am to 3 pm at Queen Elizabeth Park, the free event has already attracted strong interest, with a wide range of Volunteer Involving Organisations preparing to showcase the important work they do across the region.

Delivered by Volunteer Connect Lithgow Region Inc and proudly supported by The Centre for Volunteering, the Expo has been made possible through targeted community funding to strengthen volunteer engagement and build local capacity.

The event will provide a relaxed and welcoming space for residents to explore volunteer opportunities, connect directly with local groups, and discover ways to give back, whether that’s a few hours a week or simply learning more about what’s available.

Held in collaboration with the Lithgow Community Markets, the event also offers attendees the chance to browse local stallholders, while a free sausage sizzle, proudly supported by RRT, adds to the community atmosphere.

As a newly established not-for-profit hub, Volunteer Connect Lithgow Region Inc aims to strengthen connections between organisations and individuals, helping to build a more sustainable and supported volunteer sector locally.

Community members are encouraged to come along, get involved, and experience firsthand the impact of volunteering across the Lithgow region.
