Oberon’s Field to Forest event is now well underway, with the two-month program, which kicked off in March, continuing to celebrate the region’s deep connection between agriculture, forestry and community.
Spanning March and April, the event brings together a diverse calendar of activities that highlight the people, industries and landscapes that define Oberon. From paddock to plantation, Field to Forest is offering locals and visitors the opportunity to experience the very best of the region across an extended season.
Throughout April, a series of local markets is being held across Oberon, Edith and Tarana, showcasing fresh produce, handmade goods and the talents of local makers. These markets provide a wonderful opportunity to support small businesses while enjoying the relaxed, community-focused atmosphere the region is known for.
Adding further depth to the program, the Oberon & District Museum is hosting a series of Forest and Timber talks that offer insight into the history and future of the timber industry in the area. These sessions are both informative and engaging, highlighting the importance of sustainable practices and the role forestry continues to play in the local economy.
The highlight of the program is the Oberon Autumn Garden Showcase on 18 and 19 April, with a number of private gardens opening to the public over the weekend. The showcase invites visitors to explore beautifully curated spaces, drawing inspiration from the region’s seasonal colours and cool-climate gardening expertise.
With something on offer right through to the end of April, Field to Forest continues to connect community, industry and visitors in a meaningful and distinctly Oberon way.
