Big-Name Comedy Heads to the Central West

Two of Australia’s most recognisable comedians are heading to the Central West this May, with Bathurst set to host a standout night of stand-up comedy.

Justin Hamilton and Rove McManus will headline a special performance at Reckless Brewing Co. in Bathurst on Friday, 15 May, bringing award-winning festival comedy to a local audience.

Rove McManus is one of the most familiar faces in Australian comedy. Beginning his career as a stand-up performer, Rove went on to create and host one of the most successful talk shows in Australian television history, Rove Live.

While television made him a household name, stand-up comedy has remained a constant throughout his career. For more than two decades, Rove has continued to headline clubs and comedy festivals across the country, delivering the upbeat, high-energy style that has made him a favourite with audiences nationwide.

Joining him on stage is Justin Hamilton, a highly respected comedian, writer and broadcaster who has built a successful career across television, radio and live performance. His podcast, Big Squid, reached number one on the Australian Pop Culture Podcast charts, and his live shows have received widespread recognition, including Best Comedy Show at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2019.

The Bathurst show will be held at Reckless Brewing Co., one of the city’s most popular independent venues, known for its relaxed atmosphere, locally crafted beers and strong support of live entertainment. The brewery has built a reputation as a vibrant social hub, making it the perfect setting for a night of big-name comedy. Be sure to get there ahead of time to grab a delicious meal!

Tickets are $50 per person (plus booking fee) and can be purchased online at centralwestcomedy.com.au.

The Central West tour will also include shows in Mudgee, Dubbo and Orange earlier in the week, but organisers expect the Bathurst performance to be a highlight of the regional run.

The Bathurst show runs from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm, and early bookings are recommended for what promises to be a big night of laughs.
