Oberon’s young hockey stars have once again demonstrated their talent and determination, with a strong contingent representing Bathurst at the Bathurst Junior Hockey District Carnival held on Sunday.
A total of 12 Oberon players took to the field across the Under 10s and Under 12s representative teams, proudly wearing the green and gold of Bathurst District Hockey and showcasing the strength of junior hockey in the Oberon region.
A special congratulations goes to Ava, Izzy, Frankie, Bella and Eloise, who returned home with gold medals after helping the Bathurst District Under 12 Girls team secure victory in Pool A. Their achievement was the result of excellent teamwork, skill and commitment throughout the carnival.
There was also a remarkable effort from James McMahon, who played for both the Bathurst Under 10s and the Bathurst Mixed Under 12s teams during the day. In an impressive display of endurance and enthusiasm, James completed 11 games of hockey across the carnival.
Another special mention goes to Oberon’s Mick McDermott, who coached the Bathurst Mixed Under 12s side and played an important role in guiding and supporting the young players throughout the event.
Congratulations to all players, coaches and families involved. Your efforts and sportsmanship made the Oberon community proud.
