Lithgow’s much-loved annual celebration of country life and community spirit is just around the corner, with Westfund’s Lithgow Show returning to the Tony Luchetti Sportsground this March. Now in its 141st year, the iconic event is set to deliver another unforgettable weekend packed with entertainment, tradition and good old-fashioned showground fun.
A highlight of this year’s program will be the exciting launch of Freaky Friday, taking place on the opening afternoon and evening of the Show. Designed as a high-energy, themed dress-up celebration, Freaky Friday will add a carnival-style twist to the traditional show atmosphere. With Fashions at the Show set to take centre stage on Friday evening, showgoers are encouraged to get creative, go spooky, fabulous or freaky, and compete for prizes while soaking up the buzzing Friday night vibe. Adding even more appeal for families, school children will receive free entry on Friday, making it the perfect way to kick off the weekend.
Across the full three days, the Lithgow Show will once again showcase everything locals and visitors love about a classic country show. From livestock displays, pavilion competitions and agricultural exhibits to showbags, carnival rides, sideshow alley and woodchopping, there will be something happening around every corner. Crowd favourites including freestyle motocross, trick riding, animal nurseries, reptile displays and interactive kids’ activities will keep audiences entertained from morning through to evening.
Live music, food stalls, local produce, community displays and the always-anticipated fireworks will add to the festive atmosphere, while the grand parade and main arena events continue to draw big crowds year after year. Whether you’re a long-time show supporter or attending for the first time, the Lithgow Show offers a chance to reconnect with tradition while enjoying fresh experiences and new attractions.
Behind the scenes, a dedicated committee and passionate volunteers work tirelessly to deliver this major community event, ensuring the Lithgow Show remains one of the Central West’s standout annual celebrations. It’s not just about entertainment — it’s about showcasing local talent, supporting agriculture and bringing the community together.
