A much-loved chapter of Australian music history will be celebrated in Lithgow this winter, with a special tribute event honouring the remarkable 60-year legacy of legendary folk-pop group The Seekers.
Hosted by Quota Lithgow, the “Celebrating The Seekers – 60 Years” tribute show will be held at Black Gold Motel on Wednesday, July 1, from 11 am to 3 pm.
Adding to the excitement for local audiences, the event will feature a live performance by Keith Potger, one of the founding members of The Seekers, whose music became part of the soundtrack for generations of Australians.
The afternoon promises a nostalgic journey through many of the group’s best-known songs, with guests expected to enjoy a mix of music, memories and community connection in a relaxed luncheon setting.
Importantly, the event is also raising funds for Lithgow Aged Care Services, helping support programs and services for older members of the local community.
Organisers say the event is about more than simply revisiting timeless music classics — it is also an opportunity for the community to come together and support an important local cause.
Tickets are $70 per person and include lunch; all members of the community are invited to attend.
Quota Lithgow is encouraging people to gather friends and family and enjoy what is expected to be a memorable afternoon of entertainment and fundraising.
The Seekers remain one of Australia’s most iconic musical acts, with enduring hits including “Georgy Girl”, “I’ll Never Find Another You” and “The Carnival Is Over” continuing to resonate with audiences decades after their release.
Bookings are now open, with interested attendees asked to contact Jennie Lovett on 0409 157 044 or via email at quota.lithgow.inc@gmail.com. Organisers have also requested that guests advise of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
With a celebrated Australian music legacy, local community spirit, and support for senior services all coming together, the event is shaping up to be a meaningful afternoon for the Lithgow region.
