Blayney’s own Emma Dowsett has officially begun the adventure of a lifetime, safely arriving in Norway as an outbound Rotary Exchange Student proudly sponsored by Blayney Rotary.

Emma was farewelled in Canberra by family and friends before departing for her 12-month international exchange, where she will attend school, immerse herself in Norwegian culture and experience everyday life in a completely new environment. The exchange marks an exciting milestone for Emma, offering opportunities to build independence, global connections and lifelong memories.

Over the coming year, Emma will be hosted by the Rotary Hamar Vest Rotary Club, whose support and hospitality will play a vital role in helping her settle into her new community. We extend our sincere thanks to the club for welcoming Emma and providing the care and guidance that makes youth exchange programs such a success.

Emma is expected to return home to resume her studies at Blayney High School in 2027, bringing with her new skills, perspectives and experiences to share with the local community.

We wish Emma every success during her time abroad and look forward to following her journey and sharing her updates throughout the year. Enjoy every moment, Emma — your Blayney community is cheering you on.
