The Portland Branch of the Country Women’s Association wrapped up the year on a high note with the drawing of its popular Christmas Raffle, held on 18 December at the Portland RSL.
The raffle once again highlighted the generosity and strong community spirit that Portland is known for, with locals keen to support the CWA and the important work they continue to do within the town and surrounding district.
Congratulations to all of this year’s prize winners. First Prize was awarded to Colleen Jenson, followed by Second Prize winner Deb Bettison and Third Prize winner Neil Stait. Fourth Prize went to Maree Brown, Fifth Prize to Gary (c/o Portland RSL), and Sixth Prize to Lindsay Featherstone. Each prize was warmly received, rounding out what was a wonderful end-of-year celebration.
The Portland Branch CWA would like to sincerely thank Williams Butchery and the Portland Quilters for their kind and generous donations, which helped make the raffle such a success. Appreciation is also extended to everyone who purchased tickets, supported the raffle and continues to back local fundraising efforts.
Community support remains at the heart of everything the CWA does, and this Christmas raffle was a perfect example of what can be achieved when locals come together.
