The 2021 BRAGS Art Fair Online has attracted unprecedented interest with 138 artists from Blue Mountains to West Wyalong entering over 200 artworks including paintings, photographs, ceramics, and sculpture, priced between $100 and $2, 000.
“The online Art Fair is a great opportunity for local artists to exhibit and sell at a time when there have been few opportunities,” says BRAGS President Annette Crothers. The exhibition will be online from 1 – 30 November on the BRAG website and is an initiative of the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery Society Inc. (BRAGS).
The 2019 BRAGS Art Fair sold $18,750 worth of locally produced artwork priced between $70 and $2 000.
An online launch of the BRAGS Art Fair will occur at 6pm on Thursday 4 November held on Zoom and will include a ‘tour and short tutorial’ of the virtual gallery.
A lucky ‘zoom’ prize consisting of a $50 voucher for the BRAG shop will be awarded to one viewer who tunes into the launch.
The virtual gallery is a digital replica of the BRAG exhibition space including plinths, Ian Marr’s table and the bookshelf in the Lloyd Rees Room and will contain all of the artworks entered into the art fair.
The works will be available to purchase from 1 – 30 November via the online exhibition website.
Sold artworks will either be collected from BRAG at a designated time or organised via post to remote buyers.
Funds raised by BRAGS Inc. from the Art Fair will be used to purchase new works for the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery’s Permanent Collection.
