With less than three weeks to go, Portland District Motor Sports Club is proud to announce the opening date of 26/27 Cullen Bullen Speedway Season.
Circle Saturday 26th September 2026 on your calendar as the season gets underway under lights at Cullen Bullen Raceway.
This opening race programme features the cream of the Racing Sedans Australia Divisions.
The first meeting co-incides with Prostate Cancer Awareness Month with the club joining the Prostate Cancer foundation to promote awareness of this terrible disease. The Fast Fours will be racing in honour of Portland 27 Driver John Spicer who, is currently fighting his own battle with the condition.
Fast Fours feature last years club champion Loghan Whalan, South Coast 4’s club champion Michael Barton, John Swadling in his new Honda, Stuart Bennett Honda Civic and returning to the fast fours for a one-off appearance is former junior sedan champion, previous NSW fast four and super production champion Jaiden Healey.
There will be current drivers in new cars and a few new drivers dipping their toes into speedway sedans for the first time. PDMSC is planning for a big turn out of drivers from other clubs to support the cause, follow Cullen Bullen Raceway Facebook for latest nominations.
In addition to the Fast 4’s the night also features: Junior Sedans – 4 Cylinder unmodified sedans driven by 10 to 16 year olds destined to be the stars of the future The Holden vs Ford Street Stockers club champion and Brian Callaghan Memorial Winner Jake Clarke will be onboard in his V6 commodore and is looking for another big season in both the Street Stockers and Super Production Divisions.
The Super Fast and Super Exciting no holds barred Super Production division is also racing with the first round of their club championship. Get up close to these cars and you can see pure racing machines: lift the bonnet and witness super charged, turbo charged, carburettor ed or fuel injected race engines running on methanol fuel these beasts are the fastest things with doors around the 400m clay/granite Cullen Bullen Bullring.
To complete the line up of the opening night the RSA fender benders will be racing. The only division where contact racing and spinning out your fellow competitors is not only allowed but encouraged, drivers with pseudonyms like Wonder Women, Batman and Captain America do not disappoint. Always entertaining and with big numbers these 6 cylinder monsters will put on a great show.
