Gravel riders from across the region and beyond will descend on the Mid West when Mary’s Mayhem returns for a huge weekend on two wheels on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November.
First held in 2024, Mary’s Mayhem combines gravel cycling with some of the best hospitality the Mudgee Region has to offer, creating a weekend that can be as competitive – or as relaxed – as riders choose.
The weekend gets underway on Friday evening at Three Tails Brewery in Mudgee, with early registration from 6.30pm, lucky door prizes and a bicycle expo setting the scene for two big days of riding.
Saturday 31 October is race day, starting and finishing at Small Batch Brewery in Mudgee, with four distances on offer – 30km, 60km, 100km and, new for 2026, the 160km “Miler”.
The Miler riders roll out at 8am, followed by the Long, Medium and Short course riders at 9am.
For those looking to put the hammer down, Saturday features professional timing and prizes for the leading finishers across the main courses. Riders can chase a personal best, work together in a bunch or simply find their own pace and enjoy some fantastic Mid West countryside.
Those taking a more leisurely approach can stop in Gulgong for live music and some famous CWA home baking before continuing their journey back towards Mudgee.
Once across the finish line, the fun continues at Small Batch with food, drinks, a live DJ, games and plenty of opportunity to compare stories from the course. Celebrations then move to Kelly’s Irish Pub from 6pm for presentations and the official after party.
On Sunday 1 November, the pace changes gears with 30km and 60km rides departing Rylstone at 9am.
Sunday’s courses are all about enjoying the ride, taking in spectacular countryside and the ancient rock formations of the Capertee Valley before rolling back into the Globe Hotel in time for lunch, final presentations and the Rylstone Markets.
Mary’s Mayhem is fully supported across the weekend, with mechanical assistance, feed zones, event photography, sweep vehicles, traffic control, course markings and professional timing.
With great gravel roads, rolling countryside and very little climbing, organisers have designed Mary’s Mayhem to offer something for just about anyone on two wheels.
Whether you are racing for the podium, chasing a personal best or simply looking for a cracking weekend away with mates, Mary’s Mayhem is shaping up as a great way to explore the Mid West – one gravel road at a time.
