The Oberon business community has once again shown its strong support for local enterprise, with more than 400 nominations received for the 2026 Oberon Business Awards.
The record-breaking result marks another milestone for the awards program and represents a significant increase on last year’s already impressive nomination tally. It is also a clear reflection of the strength, diversity and resilience of businesses operating across the Oberon region.
Presented by the Oberon Business and Tourism Association (OBTA), the awards celebrate excellence across a wide range of industries while recognising the businesses, operators and organisations that contribute to the local economy and community life.
OBTA President Tatiana Coulter said the community’s response had been overwhelming.
“Receiving more than 400 nominations is a fantastic result and demonstrates just how highly our local businesses are valued by the community,” she said.
“The nominations highlight the incredible range of businesses we have in the region and the important role they play in making Oberon a great place to live, work and visit.”
Businesses that have received nominations are encouraged to keep an eye on their inboxes for information from OBTA outlining the next steps in the awards process, including submission requirements. Nominees are also reminded to check their spam and junk folders to ensure they don’t miss any important correspondence.
While recognition at the local level is an achievement in itself, the Oberon Business Awards can also provide a pathway to broader success.
Winners from the local awards progress through to the regional business awards, with the opportunity to then compete at the NSW Business Awards.
One recent example is Erica from Active Living OT, who was named Outstanding New Business at the 2025 Oberon Business Awards. She later won the same category at the Western NSW Business Awards and will now represent the region at the NSW Business Awards.
Importantly, the awards are open to all eligible businesses across the Oberon region, not just OBTA members, ensuring every business has the opportunity to be recognised for its achievements.
