Bathurst turned to a sea of colour – all for a good cause.
To acknowledge and celebrate International Day of People with Disability, not-for-profit employment, training and apprenticeship organisation VERTO, held a FREE colour run at Ralph Cameron Oval and Community Hall in Raglan on Friday.
“Through this colour festival, VERTO promoted community awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability,” VERTO CEO Ron Maxwell said.
“At VERTO, we see firsthand the value that people with a disability can make to workplaces all over the Central West every day. As employees they are loyal, engaged and motivated, and often help a business thrive.
“The event was a huge success and we’re thrilled to have had the support of so many local disability services including Glenray, New Horizons and Carenne School, as we continue to work together to make the world a better and fairer place for people with a disability.”
As well as a colour run, there was facepainting, games, competitions and lots of giveaways and a barbecue lunch cooked by the team from Boys from the Bush. NSW Rural Fire Service and Santa also made special appearances.
