Still Plenty of Pink to Come for Mudgee!

The Mid-Western Region has certainly embraced all things pink this October, with businesses, community groups, sporting clubs and residents throwing their support behind Pink Up Mudgee, raising funds and awareness for the McGrath Foundation.

And while we’ve already enjoyed a wonderful month of pink-themed activities, there’s still plenty of fun to be had before the celebrations wrap up!

The community support so far has been nothing short of fabulous, with locals finding all sorts of creative ways to get involved. From sporting events and fundraising activities to businesses dressing up their shopfronts and residents proudly wearing pink, it’s been a wonderful reminder of just how generous our regional communities can be.

At the heart of the campaign is the McGrath Foundation, which supports people and families experiencing cancer by providing access to specialist McGrath Cancer Care Nurses. These nurses offer vital clinical, emotional and practical support, helping patients and their loved ones navigate what can be an incredibly challenging time.

And what better way to support such an important cause than by getting together and having a little fun along the way!

Saturday 24 October is shaping up to be a big one, with the Pink Up Mudgee Races at Mudgee Racecourse featuring Best Dressed in Pink, a gourmet BBQ and silent auctions. The Anglican Church Grounds in Mudgee will host markets from 8.30am to noon, while Roth’s Wine Bar will get the party started with Pink Music Bingo from 6pm. Over in Gulgong, the Post Office Hotel will host a Pink Up Family Day.

On Tuesday 27 October, Gulgong Bowling Club will join the fundraising fun with Twilight Bowls.

The pink celebrations continue on Saturday 31 October, with another morning of markets at the Anglican Church Grounds, the Gulgong Pink Up Golf Day at Gulgong Golf Club, and the fabulous Pink Up Masquerade Ball at Gulgong RSL Club from 6pm. Tickets for the ball are $100 per person.

And there’s one final opportunity to celebrate, with the Gooree Melbourne Cup Day at Gooree Park Stud on Tuesday 3 November.

A huge congratulations to the Pink Up Mudgee committee, volunteers, participating businesses and everyone who has contributed so far. Your enthusiasm, generosity and community spirit are making a genuine difference.

So dig out something pink, gather your friends and get involved. There’s still time to help make this year’s Pink Up Mudgee another wonderful success!
