Lithgow City Council has confirmed its leadership team for the year ahead, with Councillor Cassandra Coleman re-elected as Mayor and Councillor Eric Mahony elected Deputy Mayor.
The elections were held during Council’s meeting on Monday, 28 September, with Cr Coleman returned to the Mayoral role she has held since 2024.
Cr Mahony steps into the Deputy Mayor position, replacing Councillor Steve Ring, who has served in the role alongside Cr Coleman.
The Village Voice acknowledges Cr Ring for his contribution as Deputy Mayor and his work representing the Lithgow community during his time in the position.
The election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor comes as Council continues work across the Lithgow Local Government Area, with infrastructure, community services, economic development and the region’s ongoing transition among the priorities ahead.
With the leadership positions now decided, Councillors will continue their work representing Lithgow and its surrounding villages over the coming year.
The Village Voice congratulates Cr Coleman and Cr Mahony on their election to the roles.
