There was plenty of pink, a whole lot of community spirit and some very special moments at Gulgong Sourdough, as the much-loved local business threw its support behind Pink Up October and the McGrath Foundation.
Throughout October, Gulgong Sourdough joined businesses across the region in raising awareness and funds to support McGrath Cancer Care Nurses, with a beautiful tribute that touched the hearts of many.
Community members were invited to make a gold coin donation and hang a paper crane in honour of someone whose life had been impacted by cancer. Each crane carried a special name, creating a moving display of love, remembrance and support.

For the team at Gulgong Sourdough, reading the names and hanging each crane proved an emotional experience, highlighting just how many local families had been touched by cancer.
The fundraising efforts didn’t stop there!
Rachel from Gulgong Sourdough and Reanne from This Farmhouse Ceramics were also recognised by the Pink Up Your Town team for their wonderful enthusiasm and ongoing support.
The dynamic duo brought plenty of creativity to the campaign, with Rachel preparing delicious pink-themed treats and Reanne showcasing her beautiful handmade ceramics.
Gulgong Sourdough also organised two cake stalls at All Hallows Primary School and Gulgong Primary School, while Thursdays throughout October featured special pink treats in-store, with proceeds supporting the McGrath Foundation.
It was another wonderful example of the generosity that makes our regional communities so special.
A huge congratulations to Rachel, Reanne and everyone who contributed. From gold coins to pink goodies, every little gesture helped make a difference!
