Small business owners across the Central West and Far West can now get free, independent advice from experienced local advisors, thanks to Central Business HQ.
Central Business HQ is the local provider of Small Business Advisory, a program funded by the NSW Government and delivered through Service NSW. With eight advisors based throughout the Central West and Far West, the program brings practical support close to home for businesses in all across the Central West.
Eligible businesses can access up to four hours of free advice each financial year, in person, online or over the phone. The program is open to anyone who owns or operates a small business in NSW, or is thinking about starting one.
The advisors are independent and have experience running small businesses themselves. They can help with business planning, marketing, finance, staffing, digital skills and artificial intelligence (AI). Whether you are testing a new idea, running an established business or planning for change, the advice is tailored to where you are now.
Beyond one-on-one sessions, the program offers free workshops, webinars and networking events, plus online resources business owners can use at any time. All events are free, and you can attend as many as you like.
Suzie Neill, The Program Manager at Central Business HQ, said having advisors who live and work in the region makes a real difference.
“Small businesses are the backbone of the Central and Far West. They employ our neighbours, sponsor our sporting clubs and keep our main streets alive,” Suzie said.
“But running a business out here comes with its own challenges: long distances, rising costs, finding and keeping staff, and the effects of drought and flood. Too often owners are working through these on their own at the kitchen table. Our advisors understand regional business because they’re part of it, and we want every business owner to know free help is available.”
Appointments are booked through Service NSW’s self-serve booking system, where you can browse available advisors and manage your sessions. Visit service.nsw.gov.au and search “Small Business Advisory”, or contact Central Business HQ on 1300 232 249 or reception@bizhq.com.au.
With October being NSW Small Business Month, now is a great time for business owners to reach out. Central Business HQ will be scheduling events across the region [, alongside the program’s free workshops, webinars and networking events.
