Glenn McGrath to Play in Pink Up Mudgee Big Bash

Australian cricket legend Glenn McGrath will take to the field in Mudgee this month, headlining what promises to be a very special afternoon of cricket, family fun and fundraising for the McGrath Foundation.

The Pink Up Mudgee Big Bash Cricket event will be held at Victoria Park, Mudgee on Saturday 10 October, with activities getting underway from 3pm.

The opportunity to see one of Australia’s greatest ever fast bowlers playing cricket right here in Mudgee is sure to draw a great crowd, while also putting the spotlight firmly on the important work of the McGrath Foundation.

The afternoon begins at 3pm with a Come & Try and coaching session, open to all children and providing local youngsters with a great opportunity to get involved in the game.

The Big Bash match will get underway from 4.30pm, with McGrath joining the action on the field for what should be a terrific afternoon of cricket at Victoria Park.

Following the match, a Junior Representative Presentation will be held from 6pm, recognising some of the region’s young cricketing talent.

The game is expected to wrap up around 7.30pm, before celebrations continue from 8.30pm with an auction, drinks and dinner at The Paragon.

Food and drinks will also be available during the afternoon, making it an easy family outing and another great way for the community to support Pink Up Mudgee.

McGrath’s visit is particularly fitting for a town that has so enthusiastically embraced the pink campaign and its fundraising efforts.

The McGrath Foundation has become one of Australia’s most recognised cancer support organisations, and events like this provide an opportunity to raise funds while bringing communities together.

Sponsored by Newcastle Permanent, the Pink Up Mudgee Big Bash promises a rare opportunity to see a true Australian cricket great in action – and you won’t have to travel to the SCG to do it.

Head to Victoria Park from 3pm on Saturday 10 October and get behind a great afternoon for a great cause.
