Spring into Art at Newbridge returns in 2026 with a range of activities, including the 5th Newbridge Art Show, which offers prize money of over $6000.
Traditionally held on the third weekend in October (16-18), this year there will also be workshops and viewing opportunities in the week prior to accommodate the interest generated by the show.
On October 14, Newbridge Art Show will host an accessible viewing day, where visiting groups with mobility or sensory requirements can book a time slot for quiet and unhurried viewing.
Two days of art workshops will follow on Thursday and Friday, led by tutor and Canowindra artist David Isbester. Photography workshops are also scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
On Friday, October 16, there will be an official opening and announcement of awards for the art show, followed by the popular opening night concert held in the village.
Artists are invited to submit in the categories of Open Art (first place plus two runners-up), Open Photography (First place plus two runners-up), Miniature Art and Miniature Photography (both with first place and runner-up). Blayney Shire Council is offering its $1000 acquisitive art prize and the committee is also grateful for support from the Arts OutWest Cultural Fund.
Entry fees are $20 per artwork entered into the Open sections for the first three entries, with the 4th exhibit free. For Miniature works, entry is $10 each for three, with the fourth exhibit also free. This means that artists could potentially enter a total of eight artworks for $90.
