Blayney High School welcomed students, staff and community members for a successful Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, raising more than $1,500 for the Cancer Council.
The event brought together people of all ages for a morning of good food, conversation and community spirit, all in support of an important cause. A special highlight was the attendance of the Young @ Heart Companions from Uralba and Lee Hostel, who joined students and staff for the occasion.
Guests enjoyed a wide selection of homemade treats prepared by the school’s hospitality students and TAS staff. From cakes and slices to cupcakes and other sweet delights, the impressive spread proved popular with attendees and showcased the talents of the students involved.
The morning provided an opportunity for the school community to connect while supporting the Cancer Council’s ongoing work in cancer research, prevention programs and support services for Australians affected by cancer.
Blayney High School thanked everyone who contributed to the event, whether through donations, baking, volunteering or attending on the day.
School representatives said it was wonderful to see the wider community come together to support such a worthwhile cause, with plenty of laughter, conversation and full plates enjoyed throughout the morning.
The success of the event reflected the generosity and community spirit that exist across Blayney, with more than $1,500 raised to help make a difference in the lives of those impacted by cancer.
Organisers described the morning as a memorable occasion and thanked all those who helped make it possible.
