Step by Step: Blayney Community Invited to Walk for Wellbeing

Residents are being encouraged to take time out, slow down and connect with a community Mental Health Walk set to take place in Blayney later this month.

Hosted by Mental Health Mates Bathurst, the gentle “Walk and Talk” event will be held on Saturday, 25 April at Heritage Park, beginning at 3 pm.

Designed to be inclusive and uplifting, the walk offers a simple but meaningful opportunity for locals to come together in support of mental health awareness. Whether attending for personal wellbeing, to support a loved one, or simply to be part of a positive community moment, organisers say every step counts.

The event will follow a relaxed format, allowing participants to walk at their own pace, engage in light conversation or enjoy quiet reflection. With a focus on connection rather than distance, the walk aims to create a welcoming space where people can feel comfortable, supported and included.

Set against the backdrop of one of Blayney’s favourite green spaces, the afternoon offers a chance to reconnect not only with others, but also with nature and self — something many acknowledge as increasingly important in busy daily life.

Importantly, the event also plays a role in helping to break down stigma around mental health, encouraging open conversations and fostering a stronger, more compassionate community.

Participants are invited to attend solo, with friends or alongside family members, with all welcome regardless of age or fitness level.

With just two weeks to go, organisers are encouraging the community to mark the date and take part in what promises to be a simple, positive step toward better wellbeing together.
