The Oberon Showground was a hive of activity on Saturday, May 2, as the monthly Oberon Markets returned, bringing together a vibrant mix of local producers, makers and community members for a relaxed morning out.
Running from 9 am to 1 pm on the first Saturday of each month, the markets once again showcased a fantastic range of locally grown produce and handmade goods, offering something for everyone. From fresh seasonal offerings to unique artisan products, the diversity of stalls reflected the strength and creativity of the region’s small-scale growers and creators.
With both indoor and outdoor stalls set up across the grounds, visitors were able to wander at their own pace, stopping to chat with stallholders, sample local fare and pick up a few special items along the way. The dog-friendly setting also proved popular, with many attendees bringing along their four-legged companions to enjoy the morning.
As temperatures begin to cool, a number of stalls featured winter-ready items, including cosy beanies, scarves and jumpers, which drew plenty of interest from shoppers preparing for the colder months ahead. Others took the opportunity to browse for early Mother’s Day gifts, with a range of thoughtful, locally made options available.
Coffee in hand, families and friends gathered to enjoy the welcoming atmosphere, reinforcing the market’s role as more than just a place to buy and sell. It continues to provide an important social connection point for the Oberon community, supporting local businesses while offering a space for people to come together.
Organisers were pleased with the strong turnout and ongoing support from both stallholders and visitors.
The next Oberon Market will be held on Saturday, June 6, again at the Oberon Showground from 9am to 1pm.
