Creativity, conversation and plenty of laughter were on display at Garden of Wire recently, with another successful series of workshops bringing local residents together to learn new skills and share ideas.
Workshop host and Garden of Wire owner Nicky Holbrook reflected on the experience as she packed away at the end of the weekend, noting that what begins as a workshop often becomes much more than simply creating something by hand.
“Shared stories, new friendships and creative discoveries are all part of the experience,” she said.
A special mention went to participant Marguerite, whose bed spring-inspired pot holder proved to be a standout creation on the day and attracted plenty of admiration from fellow attendees.
Nicky thanked everyone who attended the workshops and supported her small local business, saying the encouragement from the community means more than words can express.
With winter well and truly underway, Garden of Wire is now preparing for its next creative offering as part of the Christmas in July celebrations.
The upcoming Felted Soap Experience will be held on Saturday, July 25, from 1 pm to 3 pm at Garden of Wire, located at 87 Oberon Street, Oberon.
Participants will spend a cosy winter afternoon learning the art of wet felting while creating beautiful felted soaps that are both practical and unique. Designed as a relaxing, beginner-friendly workshop, the session offers an opportunity to slow down, connect with others and enjoy a creative afternoon. The handmade soaps also make thoughtful gifts for family and friends.
Bookings are now open via www.gardenofwire.com.au. For more information or to discuss upcoming workshops, contact Nicky on 0406 966 362.
