With just a couple of weeks to go, preparations are ramping up for the Blayney Anglican Parish Book Fair, with organisers putting the call out for last-minute donations ahead of the much-anticipated community event.
The Book Fair will be held across two weekends in April, Thursday 17 and Friday 18, followed by Thursday 23 and Friday 24, offering locals multiple opportunities to browse a wide selection of pre-loved books while supporting a long-standing parish fundraiser.
Book donations are still urgently needed, with organisers encouraging residents to check their shelves and contribute any unwanted titles. All genres are welcome, except encyclopaedias and magazines. Contributions can be left in the porch at the side of the Anglican Church Hall, or handed directly to volunteers who will be available at the hall on Monday and Wednesday mornings.
Well known for its friendly atmosphere, the Book Fair offers more than just books. A popular produce stall will feature homemade cakes, jams, and locally grown plants, while the Abundant Life Church will be serving bacon and egg rolls, sausage and steak sandwiches, along with cold drinks throughout the event days.
The fair continues to be a strong example of community effort, with volunteers working behind the scenes to sort, organise and prepare in the lead-up. Organisers say the coming fortnight is a crucial window to gather enough stock to meet demand, with every donation making a difference.
For many in the region, the Book Fair has become a regular catch-up point — a place to connect, contribute and support a local initiative that continues to give back.
