Council encourages residents to celebrate Bathurst’s cultural diversity in your workplace, school, community group or home during Harmony Week from Monday 16 to Sunday 22 March 2026.
Mayor Cr Robert Taylor noted multiple activities have been organised throughout Harmony Week, each promoting and celebrating the cultural diversity of our region.
“Held from 16-22 March, with Harmony Day featuring on 21 March, Harmony Week is about inclusiveness and promoting a sense of belonging, and it’s a time to reflect on the importance of respecting each other and our differences.
“Celebrating the beauty of our multicultural nation, Council has organised a number of events that you can engage in with your school, workplace or community group throughout Harmony Week. From wearing your traditional clothing, to sharing cultural dishes, these activities champion the connections we share and the Australian values that unite us across cultures,” said Mayor Taylor.

Traditional Dress Day
Businesses, community groups and schools are encouraged to host a traditional dress day/parade.
Thursday 19 March 2026
World Food Day
Businesses, community groups, and schools are encouraged to host a morning tea, lunch, or afternoon tea and bring a dish representing your culture or a country you’ve visited.
Friday 20 March 2026
Go Orange!
Wear orange or decorate your workplace orange. Orange symbolises communication, freedom of ideas and mutual respect.
Saturday 21 March 2026
Harmony Day parkrun
Join parkrun on Harmony Day and wear orange to celebrate diversity. Register for free via www.parkrun.com.au

Bathurst Library Community Exhibition
Hosted by Bathurst Library, Our Journeys Connect is an initiative that invites people of all ages and backgrounds to help create a living map exploring home, belonging, and journeys in Bathurst, here and now.
