The artworks are in and hanging has begun for the 5th annual Newbridge Art Show. This year there were over 230 entries – the largest number ever – from artists across the state. All artworks are for sale so if you fall in love with a piece while you’re strolling the show, it could be coming home with you.
Spring is a perfect time to enjoy Newbridge. Park at the showground, visit the art show and then stroll through the village enjoying the sights and, most importantly, the musical sounds.
There are still spaces available for the Newbridge Art Show accessible viewing day on Wednesday October 14. If you are in a group which would prefer a private and unhurried viewing opportunity, contact the organisers via the website to book your timeslot.
Landscape workshops at Barry Community Hall will be led by David Isbester on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th and artists are welcome to attend both days.
The art show opening night begins at 6pm on Friday at the Newbridge Showground and continues at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament for concert ticketholders. Simon Tedeschi and George Washingmachine, with their special guest Clare O’Meara, will dazzle and entertain with jazz and Latin classics from The Great American Songbook. Your concert ticket gets you entry to the art show opening as well.
Saturday October 17 starts with a portrait photography workshop with Martin Ryan, continues with a stagecraft workshop for musicians run by George Washingmachine and Clare O’Meara, and features free musical performances in the art show itself, at the showground, the church, the Olde Bridge Gallery and The Gladstone Hotel.

On Sunday there is a beginner photography workshop with Carolyn Hide and more free music throughout the village until the art show closes at 3pm.
