There’s something pretty special about a country community hall. It’s where friendships are made, milestones are celebrated, dances are enjoyed and generations of locals gather to share a laugh, a story and a little community spirit.
This November, the Black Springs community will celebrate a wonderful milestone, with the Black Springs Community Hall marking its 50th anniversary across two days of festivities on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st November 2026.
And what better way to celebrate 50 years than with a good old-fashioned country dance!
Friday evening will see the hall transformed for a night of live music, dancing and plenty of reminiscing. Doors will open at 7pm for an 8pm start, with tickets just $20 per person. Guests are encouraged to bring their own drinks and supper, while a playroom will be available for the younger attendees.
A courtesy bus will also operate from Bathurst and Oberon, making it easier for former locals, friends and families to join the celebrations. Bookings are essential, with pickup locations and times to be confirmed.
The celebrations will continue on Saturday, with the hall opening from 11am until 4pm for a special community heritage day.
Visitors will have the opportunity to browse memorabilia celebrating the history of the hall and local schools, reconnect with familiar faces and share memories of years gone by.
A sausage sizzle and refreshments will be available, while group photographs will also be taken to add to the hall’s heritage displays, helping preserve another chapter of Black Springs history for future generations.
Community donations are always welcome and will help support the ongoing preservation of this much-loved local facility.
Whether you grew up in Black Springs, attended school nearby or simply enjoy a great country celebration, everyone is encouraged to come along and be part of this wonderful milestone.
