From Bushfire Devastation to a New Community Hub

Bell, Clarence and Dargan celebrate the opening of Lyrebird Community Hall.

After their previous community hall was destroyed in the devastating December 2019 bushfires, the communities of Bell, Clarence and Dargan are preparing to celebrate the official opening of their new Lyrebird Community Hall.

The opening marks an important milestone following three years of planning, fundraising, construction and determination. The new hall is a place for community connection, activities and events, as well as an important emergency and recovery hub for future bushfires and other emergencies.

Our Story
ABCD Inc. says the new hall represents what can be achieved when a community comes together following adversity.

It is a lasting community asset and a practical place for residents to connect in everyday life and come together during future emergencies.

“This hall is so much more than a building. It represents our community coming together after a devastating time and creating something positive for the future. It gives us a place to connect in everyday life and somewhere we can come together when our community needs us most.” Says Karen Jones Secretary ABCD Inc.
