With thousands of race fans preparing to descend on Bathurst for the 2026 Repco Bathurst 1000, local businesses are being encouraged to get involved, have some fun and make the most of one of the biggest weeks on the Bathurst calendar.
Bathurst Regional Council has launched four simple ways for businesses to tap into the Race Week excitement, increase their visibility and encourage visitors to shop, eat, drink and spend locally.
First up is the ‘Turbocharge Your Business’ Window Display Competition, with businesses invited to decorate their shopfront around a driver or team competing in this year’s Great Race.
There are some terrific incentives to get involved. Every registered business will receive four four-day General Admission passes to the Bathurst 1000, courtesy of Repco, a decoration starter pack, radio and social media promotion, inclusion on an interactive Window Display map and a listing on Council’s Bathurst 1000 webpage.

Also returning is the Bathurst Bargain Book – Revved Up Race Week Offers, giving businesses the opportunity to provide an exclusive offer or discount to visiting racegoers. Importantly, the booklet will be distributed to visitors including the more than 25,000 campers at Mount Panorama – a pretty impressive potential customer base!

Businesses can also put themselves directly in front of Race Week crowds by donating a prize, voucher or experience for the Fan-Fest Tuesday giveaways in King’s Parade.
And with off-track events bringing thousands of people into the CBD between 3pm and 8pm on Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 October, businesses are being encouraged to consider late-night trading. Those extending their hours can advise Council’s Events Team and be included in Race Week promotion.
Race Week brings an enormous amount of energy – and people – into Bathurst. These initiatives are a great way to turn that excitement into genuine opportunities for our local business community.
