Oberon Council has announced the successful recipients of its 2026/27 Section 356 Financial Assistance Program as part of the Community Services Day held at the Oberon Library on Thursday, 6th August. A total of $39,125 was allocated to support community organisations across the region.
Funding recipients include Black Springs Community Association ($1,000), Burraga Ag Bureau ($3,000), Can Assist Oberon ($3,000), Cold Streets, Warm Hearts Oberon Street Ministry ($500), Friends of Oberon Library ($300), Lifeline Central West Inc ($500), Oberon & District Garden Club ($1,000), Oberon & District Museum Society ($2,000 and $1,000), Oberon Arts Council ($500), Oberon Business & Tourism Association ($1,000), Oberon Chamber Music Festival Incorporated ($2,000), Oberon Christian Life Centre ($1,000 for two separate projects), Oberon Citizen Science Network Incorporated ($1,000), Oberon Craft Centre ($500), Oberon Junior Hockey Association ($1,000), Oberon Junior Tigers ($1,000), Oberon Men’s Shed ($2,000), Oberon Netball Club ($1,000), Oberon Pistol Club ($500), Oberon Polocrosse Club ($500), Oberon Pony Club ($1,000), Oberon Public School ($500), Oberon RSL Bowling Club ($500), Oberon Senior Hockey Association ($1,000), Oberon Show Society ($1,000 for two separate projects), Oberon Showground Land Manager ($1,000), Oberon Squash Club ($1,000), Oberon Tarana Heritage Railway ($1,500), Oberon United Junior Football Club ($1,000), Oberon United Senior Football Club ($1,000), Other School Support ($500), O’Connell Public School P&C ($500), O’Connell Valley Community Group ($825 and $1,000), and St Joseph’s Primary School ($500). Certificates acknowledging the successful applicants were presented during the event.
