Engines Ready as Cullen Bullen Speedway Returns

The roar of engines is set to return to Cullen Bullen Raceway on Saturday, September 26, with the much-anticipated season opener kicking off another exciting year of grassroots speedway action.

Running from 4pm to 10pm, with pit gates opening at 1.30pm, the RSA Fast 4’s Prostate Cancer Round will feature a full night of racing, including RSA Fast 4’s, Junior Sedans, Fender Benders, Super Production and Street Stockers. It’s the perfect opportunity for motorsport fans to experience the thrill of local speedway and cheer on competitors from across the region.

The Cullen Bullen Speedway Club has a proud history stretching back more than 40 years. Formed in April 1985, the club initially travelled to race meetings across the state before securing the Cullen Bullen Sports Ground and opening its own track in 1991. Since then, the venue has continued to evolve, with a major safety upgrade completed in 2021 including a new concrete safety wall, 4.5-metre catch fence, LED lighting and upgraded traffic lights.

Today, the raceway boasts a unique 400-metre granite and clay racing surface capable of hosting almost every Speedway Australia recognised division. While the club is limited to 10 race meetings each season, every event offers exciting competition for drivers and spectators alike.

Behind every race meeting is a dedicated team of volunteers whose passion and commitment have helped shape Cullen Bullen Raceway into the respected venue it is today. Decades of hard work, community spirit and countless volunteer hours have ensured the club continues to thrive both on and off the track.

The club remains financially strong thanks to the ongoing support of sponsors, members and volunteers, with affordable memberships available for drivers, families and supporters wanting to become part of the speedway community.

Camping is available at the track for those wanting to stay overnight, while nearby accommodation includes Black Gold Cabins at Wallerawang and the Imperial Hostel in Portland.
