Lithgow recently hosted the 92nd edition of the St Patrick’s Catholic Debutante Ball. A spectacular occasion that drew over 500 dignitaries and guests from across the region.
This year, 16 young ladies debuted and were presented to the Matron of Honour, Mrs Jeanine Brown and the Guest of Honour, Mr Sebestian Caruso.
Under the expert guidance of St Joseph’s Primary School (Portland) Principal, Mrs Simone Taylor, who choreographed the evening, our debutantes and their partners displayed their beauty and grace through their introduction and dance. This event is steeped in local history and is a staple of the Lithgow event calendar. It provides an opportunity for the young women and their partners to be presented to the community as they transition to young adults who aim to uphold the values and expectations in society. Twelve weeks of learning etiquette, learning to dance and fundraising culminated in an evening that our debutantes are unlikely to forget for a while.
Thank you very much to the organising committee who spent the year working towards the Debutante Ball. Their efforts, and the support of a multitude of local sponsors, ensure that this ball can continue year after year.
