Oberon community gets behind Business Awards

The Oberon community has thrown its support behind the 2026 Oberon Business Awards, with more than 400 nominations received across the program and an outstanding response to the People’s Choice categories.

Half of all nominations were for the three People’s Choice awards – Service with a Smile, Favourite Tradie and Favourite Hospitality Venue. More than 2,000 votes were cast, including 1,500 in the first 24 hours alone. The Service with a Smile category was decided by just two votes.

OBTA President Tatiana Coulter said the response reflected the pride locals have in supporting Oberon’s business community.

“The support has been incredible. Thank you to everyone who nominated and voted. We can’t wait to celebrate our amazing local businesses.”

Judging is now underway for the remaining business categories, with independent judges from outside the Oberon LGA ensuring a fair and impartial process.

People’s Choice finalists will be announced in late July, with business category finalists to follow in early August.

The winners will be celebrated at the 2026 Oberon Business Awards Dinner on Friday, 4 September, from 6 pm, with local band Time to be Frank providing the entertainment. Tickets go on sale at the end of July.
