The village of Newbridge embraced the winter spirit last weekend as the annual Winter Solstice Festival returned, with organisers delivering another memorable celebration despite cool temperatures and occasional drizzle.
Festivities began on Friday evening with the popular Medieval Banquet, where guests enjoyed an immersive evening of feasting, entertainment and medieval hospitality.
Saturday’s festival showcased everything that has made the event a favourite on the Central West calendar, with the village coming alive through artisan market stalls, Viking displays, blacksmith demonstrations, historical re-enactments, live music and family-friendly activities. Visitors rugged up and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, while the spectacular Wickerman bonfire provided a fitting finale to the day’s celebrations.
The festival continues to highlight Newbridge’s unique character and community spirit while providing an opportunity to showcase local artisans, performers and businesses. Congratulations go to the organising committee, volunteers, performers and sponsors whose hard work ensured another successful event and another wonderful reason to celebrate winter in the Central West.
