The historic village of Millthorpe is in the running for the NSW Top Tourism Town Awards, with public voting now open in the highly competitive Tiny Town category.
Locals and visitors are being encouraged to get behind the Central West favourite, with a strong showing in the public vote set to play a key role in determining finalists. The campaign is also shining a light on the broader region, with nearby Orange recognised in the Large Town category, offering residents an opportunity to support multiple destinations across the Central West.
Voting is open until Sunday, 3 May, with finalists to be announced later in May before progressing to the national stage at the Australian Top Tourism Town Awards.
The awards form part of the broader NSW Tourism Awards program, widely regarded as the pinnacle recognition for the state’s visitor economy. Presented by NSW Tourism Association, the program celebrates excellence across a wide range of sectors, including attractions, tours and transport, festivals and events, food and wine, and accommodation.
The Top Tourism Town Awards place a particular focus on regional communities, highlighting standout destinations from coastal regions to inland towns, mountain villages and river communities. Categories span Tiny, Small, and Top Tourism Towns, with entrants required to showcase their offerings through detailed itineraries, video content, and bookable visitor experiences.
For Millthorpe, known for its heritage streetscape and strong local tourism appeal, the recognition presents a valuable opportunity to further strengthen its profile as a must-visit destination.
Winners in each category will be announced later this year, with successful towns progressing as finalists at the national awards.
