Exhibition Continues at Union Theatre Gallery for local artist Rhonda Magritzer

The new exhibition “Freedom & Vulnerability” at the Union Theatre Gallery in Lithgow opened on Saturday, 4 April, offering a focused exploration of material, technique and form.

The exhibition featured two key series. “Antje” presented a collection of modern abstract mixed-media works designed to be viewed up close. Layered and detailed, the pieces encouraged audiences to engage from different perspectives, revealing subtle variations across each work.

The “Wiresin” series provided a contemporary interpretation of the traditional cloisonné technique, which has historically been used in decorative enamel work across Japan and China. This body of work combined fine structural detail with a modern finish, reflecting both technical precision and innovation.

Together, the two series examined the balance between fragility and strength, forming a cohesive exhibition that highlighted both contrast and connection in artistic practice.

The official opening was held from 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, 4 April. The exhibition will continue across the following dates: April 24–27 and May 1–3, with the gallery open daily from 10 am to 4 pm.

The Union Theatre Gallery, located on Bridge Street, Lithgow, continues to support accessible, high-quality exhibitions, providing opportunities for the community to engage with contemporary art locally.
