A strong show of community support was on display at the Charity Bingo Night held at Wallerawang Bowling Club on Wednesday, 4 March, with an impressive $1,542.05 raised on the night.
The monthly fundraiser, hosted by the Wallerawang Bowling Club, remains a wonderful initiative supporting local groups and charities. Each month, the club opens its doors to the community for an evening of bingo, connection and generosity — a tradition that has become a valued part of the local calendar.
This month’s proceeds were proudly donated to the Portland Pool, one of only a few community-owned pools in Australia. The facility plays an important role in the town during the summer season, providing a place for splashing, smiling, and making simple, joy-filled memories with family and friends.
Portland Pool President Shane Taylor was in attendance on the night, joining in the fun alongside regular bingo players. Mr Taylor said he was both honoured and incredibly grateful to receive the donation, acknowledging the ongoing support shown by the Wallerawang community.
The evening was filled with laughter, friendly competition and a shared purpose, highlighting the strength of local spirit across the region.
Initiatives like the Wallerawang Bowling Club’s Charity Bingo Night are a reminder of what can be achieved when communities come together to support one another.
