Newbridge Winter Solstice Festival

Newbridge Winter Solstice Festival 19th/ 20th June 2026 is well and truly on track with all 2026 Festival preparations underway. Newbridge village will once again be alive and vibrant with colour, music, dance, entertainment, creative markets, street food and all things to provide visitors with sensory experiences that will stimulate and entertain attendees of all ages.

This year’s entertainment program has been locked in with all entertainers, new and long-time favourites, booked, confirmed and now just waiting and raring to go, counting down the 15 weeks until the event.

The 3rd Medieval Banquet, Friday evening, 19th June, will host 50 ticketed guests, for an evening of lively entertainment, dance, music and a delicious, sumptuous medieval feast. This component of the Newbridge Winter Solstice Festival program has become very popular with guests already waitlisting for the 2026 Medieval Banquet ticket release, which will be made available online on 30th April.  Early bird enquiries/reservations can be made via email:  newbridgewsol@gmail.com

The Viking Village plan is mapped out for the Newbridge Showground and the street market and medieval market vendors (approximately 65) are booked and are now preparing their themed and creative merchandise ready for this year’s event.

The entertainment program continues to present new items to entertain and maximise visitor participation.    Octave and Knott, a delightful duo of mischief makers, with absolutely no intention of staying quiet, will be offering a mix of entertainment as bard, minstrel and knife jugglers.

Festival attendees who want to beat the drum will have an opportunity to find their sense of rhythm as they join in a drumming circle presented by Welsh’s Drumming for fun!

Jousting Knights and battling Vikings will once again be listening and waiting for the crowd to choose and cheer on their favoured warriors in the arena of combat.

Young Knights will be able to join in the Knight School to learn or brush up on their sword skills as they enjoy the thrill of being a knight or warrior damsel.

The Grand Costume is happening again. It’s a spectacle for visitors and entertainers to join in, displaying and showing off their creative, colourful, interesting, and sometimes quirky costumes.

In 2026, local business owners once again have the opportunity to sponsor the costume parade prizes. This year, the aim is to acknowledge and award 20 parade participants with a prize sponsored by a local business.  This will be double the number of prizes previously presented in 2025.  Interested business owners may indicate interest in sponsorship of the costume parade by emailing: newbridgewsol@gmail.com

As the sun sets on 20th June, 2026,  the fire twirling and drumming around the Wickerman bonfire will begin.  The scene will be set for the lighting of the Wickerman bonfire at 5:15pm!

Visitor participation, engagement, and “Having a Go” will be the aim of the day and will be the key for visitors to experience a day of excitement and fun.  There will be something for everyone at the Newbridge Winter Solstice Festival, 20th June 2026.  Adults:$10 entry.
