Happy New Year from the Oberon Business & Tourism Association

The Oberon Business & Tourism Association (OBTA) has welcomed the New Year with a message of gratitude, optimism and renewed focus on supporting the local business community and promoting Oberon as a standout regional destination.

As the town steps into another year of opportunity, OBTA has extended heartfelt thanks to local businesses, volunteers, residents and visitors who have continued to support the region throughout the past twelve months.

OBTA President Tatiana Coulter said the strength of Oberon comes from the people who choose to invest their time, energy and dollars locally.

“Every year we are reminded just how special this community is,” Ms Coulter said. “From our hardworking business owners and dedicated volunteers to the locals who shop and support close to home, and the visitors who return year after year — you are all part of what makes Oberon thrive. We’re excited about the year ahead and the opportunities it brings to celebrate local success, strengthen connections and continue growing our tourism economy.”

With summer in full swing, OBTA is encouraging both locals and visitors to make the most of one of Oberon’s most loved natural attractions — Lake Oberon. Long days, warm sunshine and calm waters make it the perfect destination for a classic summer fishing escape. Whether casting a line at sunrise or enjoying a relaxed afternoon by the water, Lake Oberon offers peaceful surrounds, fresh mountain air and beautiful scenery.

Families are encouraged to pack a picnic, bring the kids and enjoy time outdoors, while remembering essential safety basics including sunscreen, hats and a valid fishing licence. OBTA also invites anglers to share their Lake Oberon fishing moments on social media and tag the association to help showcase the region’s natural beauty.

For those planning a getaway, Oberon continues to offer accommodation options to suit every style of traveller. From camping and caravan parks for nature lovers, charming cottages and farm stays for a peaceful retreat, through to motels, inns and unique scenic stays, visitors can tailor their experience to suit their needs. With gardens, forests, lakes and local attractions all within easy reach, Oberon makes it easy to relax, unwind and explore.

OBTA is also reminding the community of the importance of shopping local. Supporting Oberon businesses means supporting local families, creating jobs and keeping money circulating within the town. From friendly cafés and independent retailers to skilled tradies and essential services, every local purchase contributes to a stronger, more resilient community.

As the year begins, OBTA is looking ahead with confidence and enthusiasm, encouraging everyone to get involved, explore locally and support the businesses that help keep Oberon vibrant.

On behalf of the Oberon Business & Tourism Association, the message is clear — here’s to a happy, safe and prosperous New Year for the entire community.
