Bathurst Celebrates 2026 NSW Seniors Festival

MEDIA RELEASE 19 January 2026

The 2026 NSW Seniors Festival will be held across Bathurst from 2-15 March, celebrating the role and contributions of older adults to our local community.

This year’s event theme is “Live Life in Colour!” encouraging everyone to live vibrantly, stay connected and embrace new experiences within the community.

Mayor Cr Robert Taylor remarked that the NSW Seniors Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, with this year’s program delivering more than 60 events to the Bathurst Region.

“Each year, the NSW Seniors Festival provides activities and events to more than 500,000 people across the state. Here in Bathurst, our events are the region’s way of saying thank you to the older adults in the community. With a program consisting of 65 activities, seniors are encouraged to get involved and try something new.

“In line with the theme, Bathurst Regional Council has developed a detailed program to help you explore the activities on offer. This year’s events are divided into five categories; “fitness and recreation,” “workshops,” “community information sessions,” “history, culture and tours,” and “the arts”. Activities ranging across these categories are being delivered by local organisations and Bathurst Regional Council,” said Mayor Taylor.

The full program of events can be viewed on Council’s website at the following link: https://www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au/files/assets/public/v/1/services/older-people/2026-seniors-festival-booklet-final_v6.pdf
