Nick Way Memorial Knockout Returns to Portland for 20th Anniversary

Camping, community and celebration will again be front and centre when the Nick Way Memorial Knockout returns to Portland on 7–8 February 2026, marking 20 years of one of the Central West’s most loved sporting events.

For those keen to make the most of the weekend, self-contained camping will be available at The Foundations, located just across from the touch fields. With limited spaces on offer, booking is essential. Campers are reminded that there are no toilets or showers onsite, and participants must bring their own water, supplies and take all rubbish with them. It’s a no-fuss, back-to-basics option that allows teams, families and supporters to stay close to the action and enjoy the full Knockout experience.

After a full day of footy, the celebrations will continue with the 20th Nick Way Memorial Knockout After Party. Set up as a relaxed night to kick back together, the event will feature live music, seating and plenty of space to sit and chat. It’s a BYO drinks event (no glass), meaning no bar queues and no inflated drink prices — just good music, great company and the chance to celebrate 20 years of the Knockout. Tickets are available online only via TryBooking, with numbers strictly limited.

Team nominations are still open, with mixed teams of up to 14 players welcome. All participants must be aged 14 years and over. Team entry is $300 (not paid online), with each team required to supply their own referee. Players not already registered with NSW Touch will need to complete a $60 online registration.

As always, the event proudly supports a local charity, continuing to honour Nick’s legacy while celebrating two decades of community, connection and competition. Register early — spots fill fast. Head to Facebook and search Portland Touch Football Association to find the link to book as a team to play or attend the After-party event.
