The Central West will ring in 2026 together with a vibrant, family-friendly celebration as the 2025 New Year’s Eve Community Fireworks light up Lake Wallace, Wallerawang on Wednesday, 31 December, from 4.00pm.
Set against the natural beauty of Lake Wallace, this much-anticipated event promises an afternoon and evening packed with colour, connection and community spirit, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display proudly provided by Howard and Sons.
From early afternoon, the foreshore will come alive with market stalls, food vendors and community stalls, offering plenty to see, taste and enjoy. Families can settle in for the evening while children and young people make the most of an impressive line-up of activities. Just a reminder that NYE at Lake Wallace is an alcohol-free event!
A highlight of the program will be the PCYC Colour Blast Extravaganza, a high-energy, ticketed experience priced at $25 per person, with tickets available to pre-purchase online. Adding to the fun, a $10 wristband will give access to a range of popular activities including laser tag, jumping castles, a live reptile show, and a silent disco designed especially for teens and young adults.
Accessibility has also been thoughtfully considered, with an accessible toilet provided onsite to ensure everyone can comfortably enjoy the celebrations.
To help make the event easy to attend, bus services will run from Lithgow and Portland from 4.00pm, with tickets priced at $5 return (cash only). Onsite car parking will also be available for $5 per vehicle (cash only). Attendees are reminded that all buses and parking payments are cash only, so planning ahead is encouraged.
This community celebration has been made possible through community funding, generous support from local businesses, and a successful grant from Transport for NSW, delivered in partnership with Lithgow City Council and Lithgow Buslines—a true example of what can be achieved when a community works together.
There will also be a Monster Raffle on the day so be sure to get your tickets.
For full event details and updates (again the reminder that this is an alcohol-free event), visit www.wlpa.org.au and follow the event on Facebook. Pack a picnic rug, bring the family, and celebrate New Year’s Eve the Central West way—together, by the lake.
